We are now Double Art

From the 1st November 2009, RadioTrain joined forces with Blackman AMD to form a new creative agency called Double Art. Why? Well, we had worked together for the last 3 years on shared clients and thought it time to make the union official. Also, our attitudes and desires had changed, we felt we had grown as creatives and therefore wanted to take things to the next level. So we did.

Our mission - which we have chosen to accept - is to ‘create great marketing ideas that capture people’s imagination’. Let’s see if we can.

Guthrie Govan & Dizzee Rascal

Things are busy over at Guitar Break with bookings for all of their up and coming events selling very well. Notably, Guthrie Govan's recent work with Dizzee Rascal on BBC Radio 1 and Jools Holland's 'Later' has increased interest and bookings.

You can check the video out here and Guthrie can be seen with Dizzee in the opening song as well as 27 minutes in.

Being Guitar Break's agency we look after all their marketing activity including print advertising, website content, audio, film, Twitter, Facebook and delivery of the live events themselves. This leaves the tutors to get on with what they do best, inspire.

What's really interesting at the moment is the effectiveness of multiple communication channels all working together, especially with something like Guitar Break. The press ads have been the most effective whilst the Twitter feeds and PR have been keeping the buzz going. There is a lot of debate at the moment over the subject of full-service versus the emerging 'pure-play' agency so hopefully this contributes a little fuel to the fire.

Let us know what you think.

Quarry Stonemasons - Brand Development

Quarry Stonemasons have engaged RadioTrain to refresh and develop their brands through print, online and POS. The Bath-based stonemasons have also launched 'The Marble Works of Bath' brand which will carry all the granite, Silestone®, quartz and glass products for domestic and large commercial projects. We are currently developing the showroom signage, van livery, website and new marketing materials.

Chinese Wedding Invite

The wedding season is coming. Stag and hen do's are gracing our towns and cities and wedding outfits are being taken out of storage. Good times.

With weddings comes wedding invites and Sarah has recently completed a Chinese invite for a late September wedding. It features the double happiness symbol, one dragon, one phoenix and two language version inserts, in both English & Vietnamese, and a shiny gold envelope. The job was designed in three colours including a special spot gold which really adds some oomph.

The best thing about this job is that we are going to the wedding, all two days of it. Now that's how to party.

A Bristol Home Inspector 4U

We have just completed a re-brand for 'A Bristol Home Inspector 4U' who specialise in EPC and HCR assessment, or inspection, for domestic and commercial property. This mark is all about surfaces and creating dimension through the simple typography, shadow and shape.

The identity will be rolled out across print and online over the next couple of weeks but thought we'd give you a sneak preview here. The client is extremely happy with his new look and can't wait to start using it.

Constellation Media Ident

Constellation Media are a Bath-based (soon to be Chew Magna-based) film & TV production company who asked us to bring their identity up to date. We love working with these guys as they are mega-talented and are great fun to be around. They wanted modern and fresh so we gave them just that. The icon derives from the type but we saw a cool little reference to an old 16mm camera.

Allocate Rebrand

Within the last month or so we have re-branded London software company Allocate Software from Manpower Software. The name change is a huge part of their next stage of development and had to be rolled out across the company which now has UK headquarters in London, regional offices in the UK, USA, Australia and Malaysia.

We were up for the job.

The look and feel that had been created over the previous 2 years was well-established and our brief was to move the brand on but stay true to what had gone before. The assets that needed to be re-branded ranged from stationery, MS Office templates, merchandise and signage to exhibition graphics, print, multimedia and online.

We also produced new corporate guidelines to pull all the elements together and maintain consistent usage throughout the world. The entire project took around 6-8 weeks to complete and we are now developing the brand and marketing materials to help increase their sales.

Here is some of the work...

OnePoll graphics at Olympia

This week we designed some graphics for OnePoll who were exhibiting for the first time at Insight 2009 and Marketing Week Live. The brief was to communicate their national online research service as well as their ability to feature regular results in all the national newspaper titles.

We designed the backdrop for 4x2m stand on a fairly tight turnaround but all was delivered in time for the show.

“RadioTrain created a fantastic backdrop for our exhibition stand for the Marketing Week event at the Olympia in London. The guys not only turned around the design brief in 24 hours, but were also on hand to produce other marketing material at the drop of hat. RadioTrain are helping to maintain and enhance the OnePoll brand”.
